1. Banking Info

Ren Min Bi (RMB) is the only accepted currency in the People’s Republic of China. The main unit of RMB is the yuan (jiao/mao=0.1; fen=0.01). RMB is printed or coined in the following forms: 100 yuan, 50 yuan, 10 yuan, 5 yuan, 2 yuan, 1 yuan, 5 jiao, 2 jiao, 1 jiao, 5 fen, 2 fen, and 1 fen.
The following currencies may be easily exchanged into RMB: English pound, Hong Kong dollar, U.S. dollar, euro, Japanese yen, Canadian dollar, Australian dollar, etc.
There is a lot of banks around the campuses, and currency exchange (including traveler’s checks) and savings account services are available. Do not exchange money on the street, which is not only unsafe, but also is at the risk of being ripped off. Exchanging currency requires presenting one’s passport or residence permit. For specific questions, you should inquire bank clerks.

Branches

(1) BOC Nanjing headquarter : take the metro to Xinjiekou Station, walk east for 400 m, it locates at 29 Hongwu Road (洪武路29号), some service would ONLY be provided here (i.e., if you lost your card, or forget your card in the ATM machine…).  (2) the nearest to Sipailou Campus: 185#Zhujiang Road(珠江路185号)   (3) the nearest to Jiulonghu Campus: No. 16 bus from the West Gate, get off at “天泰路·东山派出所 (Tian Tai Lu –Dong Shan Pai Chu Suo)” (about 20 mins)   (4) the nearest to Dingjiaqiao Campus:209# Hunan Road(湖南路209号), or 85# Matai Street(马台街85号)


Other Banks

There are other banks like China Construction Bank, Industrial and Commercial Bank of China, Bank of Nanjing near the south gate of main campus and lots of banks on Hunan Road near Dingjiaqiao campus. Since this university only provides BOC account for students, if you have accounts in some other banks, we suggest you search info from their OFFICIAL WEBSITE, or dial the OFFICIAL SERVICE LINE of each banks (always like “955**”, with English service), if you have any difficulty, pls come to Room 101/ 106 for help.

3. Remittance

You go to any bank to make remittance procedure. For international remittance, Bank of China (BOC), Industrial and Commercial Bank of China (ICBC) are preferred.

And you could also use Western Union to remittance which offices always stay with Nanjing Post Office. The biggest office in the downtown is located at No.366 Zhongshan Road(中山路366号)
