SEU International Students Team Awarded Excellent Achievements in "The 2nd Clinical Thinking & Skills Competition for International Medical Students"

"Study in China" —The 2nd Clinical Thinking & Skills Competition for International Medical Students was held successfully in Dalian Medical University on October 13. The competition is co-hosted by the China Association for International Education(CAFSA) and Dalian Medical University. Totally, 120 foreign students from 30 universities in China participated in this competition.

The representatives of the foreign students of our university led by Zhihao Zhou consisting of ALDERAZI MARWA ABDULHADI ABDULLA A.KARIM (Bahrain), PANCHAGNULA SAI LAKHSMI TEJASWINI (India), PANDEY VIPIN KUMAR (India) and PARAMESHWAR (India)won the Outstanding Team Award in the competition, the Best Feature Award and ALDERAZIMARWA ABDULHADI ABDULLA A.KARIM won the Obstetrics and Gynecology Individual Outstanding Award. Haoyang Zhang, Xiaoming Yu, Jiajie Ji, Julan Hua accompanied our team throughout the competition.

This competition is divided into preliminaries and finals. The competition mode is track type. This competition involves various disciplines, including Internal Medicine, Surgery, Gynecology, Pediatrics, Emergency, etc, and the final competition simulated the first aid content of the car accident. All competition topics are true clinical cases in English and focus on examining the medical clinical thinking, humanistic care spirit, communication skills and standardized clinical operation skills.

The competition is a brand project of "Study in China", which aims to improve the clinical skills of international medical students studying in China, promote the development and exchange of international medical education under the background of The Belt and Road, and establish the brand of international medical education in China. Our university attaches great importance to this competition, and selected 4 international student representatives from more than 100 MBBS 2013 students to conduct guiding and training before this competition. Students have benefited a lot from the experience of preparation and competition. The excellent achievements of this competition show the comprehensive strength of our international medical education and the good spirit of our international students.
