Khalil Ahmad Hijrat, a SEUer Joins SEU's Fight Against the Novel Coronavirus

During this period when everyone in China is fighting against the COVID-19, our international students in their home countries are also concerned about the spread of the new virus and providing support in their ways.

Khalil Ahmad Hijrat, a PhD candidate of School of Medicine, Southeast University (SEU), is spending his holiday in Afghanistan, his home country. However, when he heard that SEU was looking for a dependable supplier to provide meals every day for 300 international students on campus during the lockdown, he decided to provide Halal lunches and suppers by his own company for our international students despite the difficulty in arranging staff and finding food materials.

Meanwhile, after the outbreak of the COVID-19, he paid great attention to the shortage of medical supplies. He managed to buy 20,000 facial masks in different cities and towns in Afghanistan and sent them to China’s Embassy in Afghanistan to donate them to Wuhan. As he wrote in his we-chat moments, “I would like to make my little contribution to Wuhan. Wuhan is not alone during the fight. Salute to the medical teams in Wuhan. Stay strong, China!”

Distance never means indifference. Since the outbreak of the COVID-19, College of the International Students (CIS), SEU makes continuous efforts to arrange and improve the  measures and mechanism to prevent and control the spread of COVID-19, with the safety and health of every international student as the priority. By the use of university website, wechat official account of CIS, group wechat, email, etc., every teacher of CIS is providing the related information and regulations to our international students, enhancing their awareness of the new virus and confidence in their fight against it. Meanwhile, our international students show their understanding, support and gratitude for our hard work in their emails, wechat conversations and moments. They say that they will stay with us and witness the victory in NCP fight.
