2. Course Introduction
Practical Medical Chinese, a 3-year linguistic skill course designed for undergraduate and postgraduate international students of Medicine, include three levels and is scheduled before the clinical practice. The objective of this course is to introduce basic medical and clinical terminologies and professional expressions, cultivate the students’ medicine-related communicative ability in stimulated medical situations which are designed on basis of various cases in various departments.

Co-requisite: courses of preclinical medicine
4. Objectives and Requirements of the Course
The course aims to help students accumulate medical terminologies and professional expressions, cultivate their ability of listening, speaking, reading and writing in medicine in order to fulfill the tasks of clinical inquiry, physical examination, diagnosis and recording. The participant students are expected to:
1). be able to understand medical terminologies in dialogues and speeches of case discussion, professional lectures, etc;
2). be able to communicate with mentors and patients, offer and answer relevant questions in department meetings and professional lectures;
3). be able to read medical history and medical literature;
4). be able to write medical history and medical examination report.

二、课程简介
《实用医学汉语》包含基础篇1、2和3，三个层次，是面向医学专业的本科、硕士、博士留学生所开设的语言技能课，本课程共开设三个学年，时间安排在学生进入临床实习之前，主要介绍基础医学以临床相关专业常用基本术语和专业词汇。围绕在门诊部、住院部的不同科室和不同病例，模拟不同的医学场景，培养学生与医学相关的语言交际能力，为临床见习和实习打好基础。

四、教学目的与要求
帮助学生积累医学专业术语和专业词汇，培养学生在医学领域的听说读写能力，完成临床问诊、查体、诊断及相关记录活动。
1.听懂医学类相关术语，案例讨论、专业讲座等医务活动中的对话及讲述。
2.能够和指导医生和患者间进行基本交流，在科室会议和专业讲座中提出问题或回答相关问题。
3.能够阅读病例、医学类文献等相关材料
4.能够完成书写病例和检查报告等相关文书活动。
