Chinese Calligraphy

1. The Nature and Objectives of the Course

This course offers traditional Chinese calligraphy skills and relevant knowledge. The objectives of the course mainly include: on the basis of teaching elementary traditional Chinese calligraphy skills, make students master the ability of writing creation; make students understand the techniques of calligraphy writing; cultivate their interest in Chinese traditional culture; deepen their interest and discussion in Chinese calligraphy.

2. Course Content

1). Writing Tools and Techniques;

A. Basic Concept and Development of Chinese Calligraphy

B. Writing Tools: writing brushes, ink sticks, paper and ink stones

C. Writing Techniques

D. Writing practice

2). Imitation Practice of Zhuan, Li, Kai, Xing, Cao Calligraphy;

3). Writing Creation.

3. Assessment and Examination

Final Grade=Average Grade (40%)+Marks of Works (60%)

一、课程的性质与目的

本课程是对中国书法技法与相关知识的学习与感知.本课程的教学目的，是使留学生在学习基本的书法基础上，进一步掌握书法创作的能力，了解中国书法的相关笔法、结体和章法，培养留学生对中国传统文化的感知和热爱，并对书法产生兴趣和进一步研究探讨。

二、课程内容

1. 书法的书写工具及用笔

（1）书法的基本概念和发展

（2）书法的笔墨纸砚等书写工具

（3）书法的笔法

（4）结合汉字示范并训练

2.结合汉字进行篆书、隶书、楷书、行书、草书的临摹训练

3.创作

三、考核方式

总评成绩＝平时成绩＋创作作品

平时成绩占40％

创作作品占60％
