今年9月初，我院推荐的电气工程专业加拿大籍博士研究生宋天成当选为第九届“江苏青年友好使者”。 “江苏青年友好使者”评选活动由江苏省外事办公室主办，候选人由省友协各理事单位推荐，今年49家单位共推荐合格候选人96名，经资格审查（初评）、专家评审等环节，28位候选人成功当选。
我校当选的宋天成同学曾担任第十届校研会副主席(分管国际交流部，博士生部，外联部)以及第三届校长学生事务特别助理。宋天成同学积极参与和组织各类文体活动和社会活动，如英语沙龙、国际文化周、中外研究生科研论坛等；在校长学生事务特别助理的工作中，参与并协助东大相关部处对东大留学生学术培养和校园融入、东大研究生心理健康、九龙湖灯光照明、四牌楼快递中心一体化等问题进行了实地调研并积极协助落实；连续三年担任海外教育学院篮球队及排球队队长，团结来自五大洲的同学，并于 2018 年获得16届、17届东大研究生排球联赛校区冠军，所率领的篮球队也取得了校区亚军的好成绩。
宋天成同学希望博士毕业之后进入到国际组织工作，通过在东大之所学，成为一名通晓国际规则，能够参与国际事务和国际竞争的东大人。
“江苏青年友好使者”评选活动开始与2011年，是近年来江苏外事部门打造的品牌项目，旨在选拔一批热心江苏对外交流事业，在相关领域取得一定成就，具有一定社会影响力，能够在传播和提升江苏国际形象和影响力等方面发挥积极作用的优秀青年，鼓励他们继续传播江苏声音，讲好江苏故事，成为了拓展江苏民间外交的中坚力量。
Tiancheng E. Song, a Canadian Ph.D. candidate from SEU was recently elected as the 9th “Jiangsu Youth Envoy of Friendship”. The activity is organized by the Foreign Affairs Office of Jiangsu Provincial People’s Government. 49 units of Provincial Friendship Association recommended 96 qualified candidates, and finally 28 were successfully elected.

Established in 2011, “Jiangsu Youth Envoy of Friendship” is a key brand project organized by Jiangsu Foreign Affairs Office. It aims to select a group of excellent young elites, who have achieved certain achievements in related fields, have certain social influence. These youth envoys are active in various fields and will spread the voice of Jiangsu, tell the story of Jiangsu, and become a backbone for Jiangsu non-governmental international exchanges.
