On Jun. 27, the 12-day summer camp for Tennessee middle school students, which was organized by the Confucius Institute at University of Tennessee for the first time, finished successfully. Beside a leading teacher from the Confucius Institute, all the camp members were American middle school students. This activity apparently arouses their interest in Chinese language and deepens their understanding of China, Jiangsu and Nanjing.
In the guide Confucius Institute Headquarters/Hanban and based on the specific condition of the camp members, our college elaborately arranged a series of lecture, salon, Chinese language culture courses, and outdoor experience activities, including the lecture of introduction of SEU and the history and economy of Jiangsu and Nanjing, the social science salon titled “Education for Overseas Students in China and International Communication of Chinese Culture”, etc.
The camp members said that they benefited a lot from this summer camp, not only about the knowledge of Chinese language and culture, but also their horizon of life.
2015年6月27日，为期12天的美国田纳西中学生夏令营圆满结束，此次是田纳西大学孔子学院首次组织夏令营。夏令营成员均为美国中学在读的青少年，此外还有美国田纳西大学孔子学院的一名带队老师，参与这次夏令营无疑将大大增强这些美国青少年对中国、对江苏以及对南京的认识和学习汉语的热情动力。
我院在国家汉办/孔子学院总部指导下，针对夏令营成员的情况，精心安排了丰富多彩的讲座、沙龙、汉语和中国文化课程以及户外体验活动。我院邱斌院长在首日开营仪式中开展了介绍东南大学和江苏南京历史经济文化的讲座，并鼓励学生们日后多来宁学习交流。18日全体夏令营成员还被邀参加“来华留学教育与中国文化的国际传播”社科主题沙龙，了解到孔子学院当今在全球化进程中的重要作用。
夏令营成员在结束后纷纷表示，他们在本次夏令营中收获颇丰，不仅丰富了中国语言文化知识，还开阔了他们的人生视野。
