Chinese for Science and Technology
1.Course Description
1). The Object, Nature and Objectives of the Course: Chinese for Science and Technology is designed for first-year graduate international students who are learning Chinese as a foreign language. The objective of the course is to eliminate the barriers of reading and understanding the professional terminologies and complex sentences during the students’ learning of science and engineering. The course will largely expand the students’ vocabulary and improve their reading speed.
2). Teaching Requirements of Course Subjects: Upon completion of the course lectures, the students are expected to improve the ability of Chinese reading and writing, and accurately grasp the graph, sound and meaning of characters and words.
3). Teaching Characteristics: linking theory to practice, strengthening the practical training, combining multiple teaching strategies including lecturing, discussing and self-studying.

科技汉语
一、说明
1、课程的教学对象、性质和目标:本课程的教学对象是我校在读研究生一年级,并把汉语作为外语学习的外国留学生。教学目标是让学生通过进一步的阅读训练,清除理工科专业学习中由于专业术语或句子结构而引起的阅读理解障碍。通过对本课程的学习,可以进一步扩大汉语词汇量,阅读速度也会有进一步的提高。
2、课程教学的基本要求:通过本课程的学习,使学生提高汉语听说读写的能力。文字及词汇方面,准确掌握形、音、义,要求理解能力强,运用水平高。
3、教法特点:注重理论联系实际,加强实践练习。讲授法、讨论法、自学法多种教学方法结合。
