On December 21, 2021, the 5th International Student Essay and Short Video Competition Award Ceremony hosted by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education and hosted by the Service Center for International Students of the Ministry of Education was successfully held online. Southeast University won the Outstanding Organization Award of this competition, and 3 SEU international students won awards for short videos and essay works. Among them, the work My Journey on Campus by Jordanian student LMA IDRIES won the second prize for short video, the work Dreams Come True by Syrian student ZAYNAB ALI won the third prize for short video, and the work Cohesion of the Chinese Nation by Malaysian student ZHI QING CHONG Won the essay feature award. Chen Yinghui, the inspector of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education, and Yang Ling, deputy director of the Service Center for Overseas Studies of the Ministry of Education, attended the event. The event attracted more than 200 students from nearly 60 colleges and universities across the country and more than 200 students from home and abroad to participate online.
This essay competition received more than 600 essay submissions from more than 100 universities and individuals, and the short video competition received more than 400 individual video works submitted by more than 70 universities and students. The outstanding works of the competition will be published in Study in China website and Study in China overseas social media platforms.
The purpose of this competition is to promote cultural exchanges among the young generations of different countries, showcase the culture of international students from various countries, discover the touching Chinese stories of international students, and introduce to the world the objective and true China in the eyes of international students, and help international students in China spread the voice of China and share the story about China.
