On January 17th, 2022, international students of Southeast University participated in the "Welcome Winter Olympic Games for a Shared Future" activity and visited the Nanjing Dry Slope Stadium. In order to welcome the upcoming 2022 Beijing Winter Olympic Games, and let SEU international students better understand the Beijing Winter Olympic Games as well as the spirit of openness and innovation of Nanjing, on January 17th, 2022, SEU organized international students to participate in the "Welcome Winter Olympic Games for a Shared Future" activity and visited the Nanjing Dry Slope Stadium. The activity was hosted by Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Commerce, Foreign Affairs Office of Nanjing Municipal Government, Nanjing Sports Bureau.
Nanjing Dry Slope Stadium, the training camp for the China national snowboard training team, is located in the Nanjing Sports Training Center. Fully equipped with different facilities, this stadium can meet the needs of all-day and all-season ski training for China National Team, such as Snowboard Big Air, Ski Big Air, Freestyle skiing and so on.
During the visit, the stadium provided on-site explanations, video, athlete demonstrations, technological equipment experience, which helped the international students to get an overall understanding of dry slope.
The international students were deeply attracted by the exquisite architectural design and high-tech equipment, and were all looking forward to the upcoming Beijing Winter Olympic Games. Isac Amaral Pereira, an international student from Timor-Leste, said: "It's my first time to come into contact with winter sports. It's really interesting. I hope Chinese athletes can achieve good results in the Beijing Winter Olympic Games."
"I have tried the 3D dynamic balance platform, and I have to keep my attention all times. It is not easy for athletes. I have been in Nanjing for 9 years. Nanjing is an open city, and international students can participate in a variety of activities. The people of Nanjing are very warmhearted and kind, I love Nanjing ." said Rosalia Linekela Shiweva from Namibia.
"Today's event is very good. I like the high-tech equipment here very much, which makes me feel like a true athlete." Waqas Ahmed from Pakistan said: "I hope all athletes can achieve good results in the Beijing Winter Olympic Games."
Welcome Winter Olympic Games for a Shared Future. Through this activity, international students experienced the charm of winter sports, and saw how Nanjing promotes the integration of Winter Olympics elements and Nanjing characteristics. In the future, SEU will keep leading international students to better explore the real Nanjing and real China to better introduce China to the world.
