All graduate training institution:
In order to further improve the scientific research innovation level and practical innovation ability of international students, we would like to support outstanding international students to carry out scientific research and practical innovation activities under the guidance of supervisors such as to develop high-quality talents with innovative spirit and practical ability. In 2022, we will commence research and practice innovation program for international students in Southeast University. Hereby, the relevant matters are notified as follows:
1. Application conditions & target:
a. Scientific research and innovation project:
Full time academic doctoral students (international students) in 1st , 2nd and 3rd year, who have basically completed the degree courses and obtained the good results and can carry out and complete the scientific research and innovation projects before graduation. While applying, please fill in the application form of “Project of research innovation program of international graduate students of Southeast University”.
b. Practical innovation project:
1st year full-time professional degree master’s students, or 1st - 2nd year full-time professional degree doctoral students (international students), who have good scientific research quality and can carry out and complete practical innovation projects before graduation. While applying, please fill in the application form of “Project of the practical innovation program of international graduate students of Southeast University”.
c. The applicant possessing good professional quality and no academic deviant moral behavior.
d. The research objectives of the project should be clear with good and sufficient basis for the project; the proposed research scheme should be advanced and feasible; the research content should be innovative and should have certain established basis for research and practice; the expected results should be feasible and the research interval time should be guaranteed.
e. The supervisor of the applicant can actively support the research work of scientific research and practical innovation, and the postgraduate training unit or institution can ensure to provide relevant required conditions for the project.
f. The applicants who don’t have the conditions as being unable to pass all the subjects and unable to obtain the required academic credits, but have the ability to complete the research before graduation.
g. In principle, academic degree graduates only apply for scientific research innovation plan and professional or clinical degree graduates only apply for practical innovation plan.
2. Fund support and its use:
a. The funding standard is set as 20000 yuan / general project and 40000 yuan / key project. All the projects of the innovation program shall be funded by the education office of college of international students (CIS).
b. 50% of the total fund amount is provided to each supervisor and student respectively (as supervisor guidance fee, student research and innovation fund) which can be used for experimental tests, purchasing reagents and materials, publishing academic papers, attending international conferences, etc.
Note: Those who are working under the “Jiangsu Province graduate student’s Innovation Program” shall not be allowed to apply for the above two types of projects.
3. Project management:
a. The education office of CIS shall be responsible for the daily management of the project such as project reviewing, funding arrangement, process management, project closing assessment, etc.
b. The project enrollee should conscientiously complete the research tasks in accordance with the research plan and relevant requirements and bear academic and legal responsibilities related to the project.
c. In case of any of the following circumstances, the project shall be withdrawn and the funding shall be recovered: the research work cannot be continued; plagiarizing other people's scientific research achievements or practicing fraud and other academic misconduct in scientific research; unable to finish the topic on time; the final acceptance is unqualified.
d. The Supervisors of project should bear the guidance responsibility to guide the whole process project and implement important trainings in the project and through these trainings, the students shall be trained to carry out standard scientific research and practice.
4. Application requirements:
a. Online application: Electronic version documents (application form, list of scientific research achievements and copies of achievements) should be sent to email academic403@pub.seu.edu.cn . Deadline : May 10th, 2022
b. Paper documents: the applicant shall submit one paper version of the application form for project of research innovation program of international graduate students (Annex 1) or the application form for project of the practical innovation program of international graduate students of Southeast University (Annex 2), together with a list of scientific research achievements and a copy of the achievements. Requirements are listed below:
1) only the academic paper of the applicant as the first author, or the supervisor as the first author and the applicant as second author paper, or the academic paper with the applicant as co-first author clearly marked in the paper;
2) Please mention the publishing journal and whether manuscript is accepted or not and the acceptance letter can be downloaded from the Internet and printed;
3) If paper is listed in SCI, please mark the impact factor and the number of citations.
Please submit the above mentioned paper materials to the education office of CIS.
c. Expert evaluation: The education office of CIS shall form experts’ panel to evaluate and select the applications and the results shall be publicized on the homepage of the education office of CIS.
